Although many of the lenders now offer online applications and e-signatures, SFTS is not currently set up to participate in these processes. You must fill out the SFTS Stafford Loan Request Form and return it to the Financial Aid Office in order to request a loan.

Lender List Rationale

SFTS carefully reviews the lenders' policies and products regularly to find the best rates and services among student loan lenders for our students. To assist you in this decision, SFTS compiled a list of lenders whom we believe can best serve our students needs.

Please note that you are not required to use one of these lenders. SFTS will process your loan with any lender you choose.

How was this list developed?
In developing our lender list, SFTS sent Requests for Information to 10 of the top lenders in the field. The RFI asked lenders about their servicing center, their web access, and the benefits they offer at disbursement and repayment. This information was reviewed by the Enrollment Department staff and six lenders were selected.

SFTS continues to provide a Preferred Lender List despite current concerns regarding such lists because we believe it is helpful to our students, who often request guidance in selecting a lender. This interactive Preferred Lender List is intended as a guide only. The staff will process a loan from any lender you select.
