Free time is only a good thing if you use it right. Finding a balance between enjoyment and efficiency is key. So get out there and make this summer fun and productive. Here’s how:
1. Find the money you need for next semester.
Summer’s here and that means next semester’s tuition bill is on the horizon. Do you know how you’re going to pay for it? If you need help, check out our free Scholarship Center or compare your private student loans. Finding the right student loan can save you thousands!
2. Read for fun.
It’s finally time to put down Shakespeare. Hooray! But that doesn’t mean you should quit reading entirely. There’s a whole world of books out there! Hit up the library and check out some writers that are still alive.
3. Build your resume.
You can build your resume even if you don’t have a summer job or internship. Getting involved in civic or church activities, volunteering, or taking a class are all ways to pad your resume with experiences that actually matters.
4. Learn something new.
There’s no better way to spend your free time than picking up a new hobby. Practice an instrument, start learning a new language, or even try a new sport.
5. Visit friends and family.
Chances are your friends and family didn’t see that much of you during the school year. Too much homework! Too many tests! Now’s the time to make up for it.
