CUI Financial Aid
Concordia University awards nearly $40 million in aid each year and over 90 percent of all students receive some sort of financial assistance. The CUI financial aid office offers a number of aid packages, including federal and state aid, institutional aid, scholarships and grants. In order to apply for financial aid, students are required to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA. The FAFSA can be submitted online at fafsa.ed.gov and helps determine the type and amount of aid an applicant is eligible for.
Concordia University Irvine Financial Aid includes merit-based scholarships that are awarded based on academic performance, or athletic or artistic talent. Students can also obtain need-based grants. Both grants and scholarships are types of “gift aid” that do not have to be repaid. CUI also participates in the federal work-study program and allows students to work part-time and use their earnings to pay for education-related expenses. Students who are members of an LCMS congregation can obtain specific grants if they plan to pursue a church-related profession. Additionally, students also have the option of applying for federal student loans including Direct Stafford and PLUS Loans.
