About Oklahoma City University

Oklahoma City University (OCU) is a private school located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Affiliated with the United Methodist Church, the university offers various degree programs at undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels. OCU has eight schools and colleges, including law and business schools. An undergraduate student may choose to select from 70 majors. Furthermore, graduate students may elect to choose from 17 degrees, including MBA and JD degrees. Oklahoma City University also offers a PhD in Nursing. Notably, the university’s campus is the hub of many social activities, with a vibrant community composed of sororities and fraternities, student organizations, athletic teams and more.

For 2012-2013, the tuition fee for an undergraduate student exceeds $24,000. The cost of housing (depending upon prospective students? preferences) exceeds $8,000. Meal plans exceed $4,000. All together, the total annual cost may be hefty for many prospective students and their families. And the annual cost of attendance may be even higher at the graduate level. A prospective student, however, should not be disheartened, as the university offers financial awards to more than 90% of its students. Scholarships worth $34 million are also awarded annually, with amounts ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. To apply for financial aid, students must fill out the FAFSA online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. Only after filling out the FAFSA will the OCU Financial Aid Office help a prospective student explore aid options.

About Oklahoma City University Aid Packages

Scholarships and grants are essentially gifts from various sources, which do not need to be repaid. Loans, however, must be repaid. At OCU, Perkins and Stafford loans may be available, in addition to Parent Loans (PLUS). Work-study programs also provide prospective students with opportunities to earn enough to buy personal supplies and books. The Oklahoma City University Financial Aid Office also works with prospective students and their parents for better financial planning.
