Student Loans for The College of New Jersey Students

About The College of New Jersey

New Jersey StudentsIf you were around in colonial times, you would know the College of New Jersey as what is now Princeton; the name was changed in 1896, and later picked up by the school that now exists in Ewing, New Jersey, just outside of Trenton. The College of New Jersey is a mid-sized university, home to about 6,700 undergrads. Its curriculum places a strong emphasis on a liberal arts education, and has a core curriculum that all freshmen take, regardless of their college or academic track.

Living near a city can drive your expenses through the roof, even if you’re a college student. Trenton is practically next-door, with both New York City and Philadelphia readily accessible by train in less than an hour and a half.  Students typically don’t visit these cities with regularity, but one or two trips a month can grow to be a large chunk of your budget, if you aren’t mindful of your spending when you do go out.

Apart from spending in the city, it’s always smart to watch your day-to-day expenses, from buying coffee to ordering delivery. If something you’re buying isn’t essential, think twice before spending hard-earned money on it.

TCNJ Student Loans

TCNJ loans75% of students receive TCNJ financial aid, which is great; despite this positive statistic, there is a reasonably sizeable segment of the student body that has taken out private student loans to cover the cost of attending the College of New Jersey. If you find your aid package not sufficient, you should take out federal student loans first, then move to private loans if you still need funding. If you’re in need of a private student loan, just use the Student Loan Comparison Tool above on this page.
