Student Loans for Wooster Students
About the College of Wooster
Operating on a 240-acre campus located in Wooster, Ohio, approximately 55 miles away from Cleveland, the College of Wooster is a liberal arts institution founded in 1866. This college is known for its progressive attitude: the first woman to achieve a PHD did so in 1882 whilst the first black student to enroll did so before 1900. The college prides itself on its ‘independent study’ program, which allows each student in their senior year to complete a study in a field of their choosing. When the study is completed, the student must defend his/her work in front of a faculty board. Many other colleges have copied this unique program and it has been widely lauded.
To apply for financial aid at the College of Wooster, all you need to do is fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be filled out and submitted online at fafsa.ed.gov. The College requires applications to be submitted by the 15th of January. Please make sure that you also write Wooster’s financial aid code, which is 003037, on your application form. This will ensure that your Student Aid Report and your Expected Family Contribution, which the federal government calculates using the information you submitted on the FAFSA, are delivered to the correct financial aid office.
Wooster Aid Packages
Wooster’s financial aid packages may consist of several funding options. Your specific financial aid package will be awarded by the College of Wooster financial aid office once a Student Aid Report (SAR) and your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) has been received from the federal government. Federal grants, federal low-interest loans, work-study and local state grants & scholarships are all part of the financial aid program.
You may wish to consider a private loan if your individual financial aid package, together with your own savings, don’t cover your college expenses. Search and compare private loans using our user-friendly Student Loan Comparison Tool and choose a loan that is most suitable for your needs.
