Florida State University, also known as FSU, is a public university based in Tallahassee, Florida. The university was established in 1851, making it one of the oldest institutions in the U.S. FSU is the flagship school of Florida's public university system and is acclaimed for providing quality education at reasonable costs. FSU Financial Aid

FSU's financial aid office has a knowledgeable staff that will help guide you through the financial aid process. The FSU Financial Aid office uses the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to evaluate your financial need, and determine which financial aid package you are eligible for. Financial aid applications are accepted from January 1, so it is advisable to apply as early as possible.

FSU students can receive different types of FSU Financial Aid, such as scholarships, grants, and student loans. When choosing the type of financial aid to receive, students are recommended to choose scholarships and grants, such as Pell Grants, since they do not have to be paid back.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the FSU Financial Aid are quite similar to other state universities. This includes:

• You must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident
• You must have a valid social security number (SSN)
• Males of at least 18 years of age must be registered with selective services
• You have to be admitted into a degree-seeking program
• You must be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours per semester
• To retain the eligibility you must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
