A private university founded in 1906, Pace offers the best of both worlds when it comes to campuses, with a Midtown Manhattan campus presence called One Pace Plaza, as well as a suburban, green campus in Pleasantville, a town in Westchester County close to New York City. 9,000 undergrads study and move between the two campuses, and the school also sports some noted graduate programs, especially their law school. Ask any Pace student, and they'll tell you that the opportunity to both study and live in the city and escape to the suburbs is one of the highlights a Pace education.
Manhattan and Westchester County are two of the most expensive places to country in terms of cost of living. You don't want your college budget to be destroyed by spending money in Midtown, so keep a careful eye on each dollar in your bank account. Allot yourself a certain spending limit for each week or month, and do your best to stay under that. It's pretty nonsensical to spend money like crazy if you're receiving Pace University financial aid, so be smart about it. Okay? Okay.
The Pace University financial aid office asks undergraduate applicants for either one or two forms, depending on their residential status. If you're a New York state resident, you have to fill out both the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a New York state aid form. If you're out of state, all you have to do is file the FAFSA. Once you've got these forms under your belt, send them off to the Pace University financial aid office, and you're golden: expect an aid package with your next tuition bill.
As with every school, Pace awards aid packages that include a blend of grants, scholarships, student loans, and work-study programs. Almost 2/3rds of students at Pace wind up borrowing federal student loans, and between these and the institutional aid provided to them by Pace, they're all set in terms of covering college costs. However, for a good chunk of Pace students, their aid award isn't enough to pay the bills. These students wind up searching far and wide for sources of funding for college, and often come to the conclusion that a private student loan is best for them. If you need a private student loan to supplement your Pace University financial aid package, then use our student loan comparison tool to search for, find, and apply for the student loan that best fits your budget.
Q:What is highlighted in the Pace Financial Aid department's Financial Aid Workshop?
A:Each year, the Pace University Financial Aid department holds a Financial Aid Workshop. The workshop aims to highlight the ways in which students can take full advantage of Pace financial aid opportunities, whether they be institutional loans, grants, or scholarships. Students are also provided complete assistance on how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
