This student loan comparison tool allows you to perform a side by side comparison of up to four lenders or loan programs. Watch what happens to your total or final cost when interest rates vary by just a few points. Or watch what happens to your monthly payment when you compute a fifteen year repayment plan compared to a twenty year repayment plan.

Comparisons are available for Stafford, PLUS, Grad PLUS, and Private Alternative Educational loans. Have fun comparing various lenders and loan programs.

Lender List Rationale

Stafford loans: Lenders were placed on UW-SP's special opportunity list because they are established lenders who have 1) reached a specific threshold in loan volume at UW-SP, 2) use Great Lakes Higher Educational Corporation (GLHEC) as their guarantor, and 3) offer repayment benefits. Prior to completing the promissory note process, contact those lenders you are considering and verify what benefits they are currently offering.

PLUS and Grad PLUS loans: For simplicity, we recommend that you or your parent(s) borrow their Grad Plus or PLUS loan respectively, from the same lender from whom you borrowed your Stafford from. Our Stafford lenders were placed on our special opportunity list because they are established lenders who have (1) reached a specific threshold in loan volume at UW-SP, 2) use Great Lakes Higher Educational Corporation (GLHEC) as their guarantor, and 3) offer repayment benefits. Private Alternative Educational loans: Lenders presented for comparison 1) support web based loan information, and/or electronic applications, and certifications, 2) offer electronic fund transfer through Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation (GLHEC), 3) have asked to be included in our lender list, and 4) our UW-SP students have elected to do business with them. Presentation is solely for the purposes of comparison and does not constitute endorsement of the lender or their products by UW-SP or the UW-SP Financial Aid Office.
